A nail is the older name for the part of a rig where concentrate vaporises. In most setups the banger has replaced it — a nail is shaped more like a mushroom or a post, a banger is a bucket.
The materials behave differently:
- Quartz — clean flavour, cools quickly, more fragile.
- Titanium — practically indestructible, heats fastest. Season it before first use or you will taste metal.
- Ceramic — holds heat longest, but takes neither a knock nor thermal shock.
An e-nail is the electric version: a heating element with a controller and a temperature set in degrees. No torch, no guesswork. You pay for it in price and in being tied to a cable.
