A concentrate is an extract of the plant with the plant material taken out of it. What is left is resin — and depending on how it is finished, it comes out with a different consistency every time.
So they are sorted mainly by how you handle them:

Consistency is not a mark of quality. Shatter and budder can come from the same run, just finished differently. Quality shows in the origin and the lab test, not in how it looks in the jar.
Store cold, dark and in a closed container — silicone for the soft ones, glass for the hard ones.
